Between gentle hills and fertile fields lies an ancestral legacy that has its roots in the kitchens of the baserris. Since time immemorial, the women of these lands have played a central role in maintaining the family and the community through their mastery in the kitchen. In this matriarchal culture, women have been the guardians of culinary traditions, passing on the secrets of Basque cuisine from generation to generation and sharing ancestral techniques and recipes that satisfied both hunger and the soul. Their role as culinary matriarchs not only gave them authority in the home, but also deep respect and admiration from their loved ones and the community as a whole.
